The word "Steampunk" is a long lived word, but during 2005, it's meaning changed dramatically. FIRST® was intruduced to Israel on 2005, and on that year Steampunk was founded, pioneering the Israeli FRC®, alongside 11 other teams. Since 2005, the foundation of Steampunk, the team is in a continuing process of evolving and improving. The team started as a motivated team without experience, and throughout the years made a root of values and professionalism which is centered on the ambition for excellence, good group dynamics, an openhearted and welcoming spirit, and enthusiasm for giving. Since the beginning, Steampunk aimed its efforts towards many circles both in the technological field and the social field: Demanding and serious work inside the group; Cooperative relations with the school and municipality which support us and our activities in the city; Involvement in the community in our area while collaborating with charity foundations and other FRC teams; Long term influence of our activities in the country in variety of fields such as education & environmentalism. Steampunk manages to hold on to this legacy thanks to our tight bond with our alumni who are involved in the group in a way that allows conservation and development. |
