Team History

The story of our team begins in the year 2000. In that year, our high-school, "Aviv", was established and with it it's robotics division.
For the first two years after its opening, our school has yet to participate in any competition, but instead learned the basics of robotics and carried out a few small internal projects.
In 2003, our team joined the international "Fire Fighting Robot" competition.
We were very sucecssful in those competitions, taking the 2nd and 4th places in the Israeli championship, and 4th in the international championship.
Although we had great success in the "Trinity Fire Fighting Robot" competition, we decided to join a more challenging competition.
It was decided to move to the FRC, and in 2005 we found ourselves participating the Israeli FRC, along with 11 more teams.
Here, too, we were very successful, as we won the Israeli 2005 Rookie All-Star award, as well as fourth in the competition ranking.
We participated in the world championship in Atlanta, and ranked 31th in the Newton Division, and that's how our 2005 FIRST experience ended.
In 2006 our team participated once again in the FIRST competition, working as hard as ever, we recieved the Engineering Inspiration award, and ranked 5th in the competition ranking.

Steampunk currently consists 22 students, from both 11th and 12th grade, and two mentors.
