Strategy

In order to get ready for the kickoff, Strategy crew read the PDF's of the game "Rising The Bar", the game of 2004, and created the individual strategy, meaning thinking up tasks for the robot and prioritizing them, as well as defining a strong, medium and weak robot.

Two weeks of the preparation period have been wasted because of the Beta system. Because we were the first team to get the Beta in Israel, no one could explain us about it and help us learning it. We should have learned it by ourselves.
Strategy crew, just like the rest of the team, wasted a lot of time trying to learn the Beta, and that's why the crew took a break of two weeks from their main work.

After learning the PDF's of 2004 and the Beta, the crew read the PDF's of 2005, of the game "Triple Play".
Even after they read the PDF's, understood the game and analyzed it, they felt they still don't understand how their work should look like in the end and what their goal is.
In order to answer those questions, the crew spoke with older members of Steampunk that told them everything they needed, and that is how they understood their purpose and importance in the team.
After reading and translating the PDF's of 2005 into Hebrew, they made a full strategy for 2005's game. Then, they did a rehearsal kickoff for the team, to make us ready for the kickoff in the 3rd of January.
After the rehearsal kickoff, the crew returned backwards to the game of 2004, read the PDF's again, did the invidual strategy again, and then did a full strategy.
Then they did a strategy for the game of 2007 - "Rack n' Roll". This strategy was the best one out of all the strategies they did before, and it shows the result of the hard and exhausting training they had.

The last thing they did before the kickoff was making the individual strategy for the games of 2003 ("Stack Attack") and 2008 ("Overdrive"), and soon later the kickoff arrived.

The team watched the kickoff together, and when it finished, we started reading the PDF's. Like in previous years, the crew that explains the rules is Strategy crew. Likewise, Strategy crew guided the team, answered our questions, and at last the team chose together the individual strategy for the robot.

The crew built a small model of the Crater, which helps them training and planning their strategies. During the first two weeks after the kickoff, Strategy crew created the team strategy, and since then he is working on the game strategy.
