Magen David AdomOn the 5th of January, our team attended a specially planned –Basic CPR(*) and Emergency treatment course by "Magen David Adom". "Magen David Adom" – MDA – is the Israeli EMS (Emergency Medical Services), which provides Ambulances and ICU's (Intense Care Units). In addition, one of our team members is an active volunteer in the association, as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician). In the course, an EMT instructor taught us the basic procedures of CPR, basic wound treatment, choking treatment – "Heimlich Procedure" and how to stop intensive bleedings. Our team recognizes a great deal in the "Safety First" tradition of "FIRST®". We have learned the significance of this tradition throughout our gradual development as a team. As our commitment to our surrounding's safety, we believe that knowing basic procedures for treating cases of medical emergencies, such as a cardio-arrest, (also known as a "heart attack") is with no doubt vital. In addition, we have contacted multiple other FRC teams, and are planning to have them participate in similar courses as well. |
