"Izi Shapira"
During Hanuka vacation we went to "Beit Izi Shapira", a voluntary social organization that helps kids under 12 by giving them advanced educational-therapeutic service. The organization works to change society and to improve the rights, chances and services of the ones with special needs in Israel.
Our work there started by packing hundreds of candy packages that were sold in symbolic price, while all the collected money went to "Beit Izi Shapira". We arrived the place early in the morning, and worked until afternoon. Our work was in a big warehouse covered by candies and empty packages, and from that moment until afternoon we just sorted the candies and packed them.
After that we loaded the boxes into larger boxes, and from there we transferred them to the trucking company that took them to the selling area. There the boxes were sold for ten Shekels each, and in the end of the day "Beit Izi Shapira" had additional thousands of Shekels to help handicapped children.
During the day we consolidated between ourselves and also with other volunteers that were there, and also had fun and were proud to help the community.
