Visits in Schneider Children's Medical CenterTwo of the most emotional activities the team organized were in the Schneider Children's Medical Center, were we visited the oncology wing. A few members of the team, together with a few members of the FLL groups, went to visit children from the oncology wing, when the purpose of the team's visit was to give the children a different kind of experience witch is completely different from they daily routine they usually have. In this activity we were hoping the hospitalized children will have some good time while introducing them to the technology of the robots and to FIRST. "While we were there, we let the children play in the VEX's, NXT and other robots." "We took FLL with us so they can understand the values of FIRST and prepare them to the future as a team member in Steampunk." (Alon Cohen, One of the team members who were there). "In addition to the technological and scientific values that FIRST is trying to convey to the kids, we find the values of giving to the surrounding community very important, and even more important. Therefore, we try to convey to the FLL kids the thinking that is behind the science and technology. As a team we are very thankful for the opportunity we were given. We see the work in the hospital as an especially important mission and we will continue the activity in the future. |
