Blood Donation

Lions Clubs International organization consists of more than 1.3 million members in 205 countries around the world. It is the world's largest service club organization that conducts vision screenings, equip hospitals and clinics, distribute medicine and raise awareness of eye disease.

One day we went to "Yad Labanim" in Ahuza Street, which is a community center in Ra'anana, and helped Lions organization to collect blood donations for the blood bank. We searched donors by asking people for donating blood while explained them the importance of it and tempting them to donate, and this way we found many donors and collected huge amount of blood for Lions. We also answered questions the donors asked and relaxed them to make them feel more comfort in donating their blood.

After our success in this day, we decided to organize another blood donation day, and after thinking about the best time and place for it we decided to do it at school during the day of the report card receiving. The reason we chose to do that in school is because there are many students in it and we thought we can find donors easier that in other places. We also understood that the best day to look for donors is during the report card receiving day. Since the students in our school are no more than 18, they need their parent's approval to donate blood, so if their parents come with them to school they can ask them for agreement immediately. Another reason for doing it this day is because the students got nothing to do during their waiting time so providing them a way to spend the waiting time may attract them. In addition to the blood donation we did this day we also sold seedlings for "Roy Lo Ehsar" organization in the entrance of school so every student came to take his report card could buy a seedling and donate money for the needy.
