Fruit Picking


Every year, at December – January, "Leket Israel" organization runs a fruit-picking while the collected fruits are donated to those in need.

During two days our team helped the organization to hand out flyers in Ra'anana in order to distribute awareness to "Sayeret Tapuz" among the city and encourage people both to donate fruits and pick fruits from other families. We went to some streets abounded with trees and put flyers in the mailboxes of the families living there.

In the 2nd of February we went to pick fruits in the streets we handed out the flyers at, while explaining each family about the organization we are volunteering for. We asked them if we can pick fruits from their garden and if they agreed we took some fruits and collected them to small bags. After collecting enough fruits, we packed it for "Leket Israel" that gave it to those in need.

Since Steampunk includes only 19 students and such a huge activity requires many people, we told the 10th grade students in our school about our volunteering and asked them to help us for their Personal Commitment hours, and this way we convinced most of them to help us.
