Breakaway - The Game
The 2010 FRC competition was published on Saturday, January 9th. The game is a competition between two alliances, the blue and the red, with 3 robots each. Each alliance's goal is to score balls into their goal (the goal in their alliance's color) for 1 point per ball.
The field is divided to 3 parts by 2 bumps:
-The blue zone, in which there is the blue alliance's goal and only one robot from the red alliance is allowed.
-The Midfield, where the balls are returned to the field by the human player.
-The red zone, in which there is the red alliance's goal and only one robot from the blue alliance is allowed.
In the last 20 seconds, the Finale, the robots may expand from the normal volume configurations and elevate themselves from their alliances tower, located in the middle of the bump. An elevated robot gets 2 points. In addition, a robot may hang itself from an elevated robot from its own alliance. A suspended robot gets 3 points.
